John Abbuhl is the Founder and CEO of Pawsch. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with degrees in Finance and Psychology. He also holds a masters degree from N. Carolina-Greensboro in Information Systems and Operations Management. John spent nineteen years in the financial services arena with large U.S. based corporate banks, primarily serving the affluent community. During his time in corporate America, his primary area of expertise focused on service excellence, merger and acquisition integration and continuous process improvement. However, John’s real passion is leadership and improving the client experience. In the late 1990’s John had two life altering experiences with the loss of his first wife to cancer, and the death of his father. It was at that point that John turned to his animals for comfort and healing, which ultimately led to his interest in pet nutrition. It was shortly thereafter that he began to develop the Pawsch pet food delivery concept in 2002. The business planning started in 2005 with operations opening in 2007. John and his wife, Michele, have 3 Akitas, Bailey, Midori, and Kei, 1 Biszu named Elmo and a Macaw named Tudir. In addition to being a lover of pets, John is also a life-long committed marathon runner.
Mike Torres is the leader of Pawsch in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Troy State University in 1983 with a major in accounting. For 24 years, Mike was involved in the financial services industry with an emphasis on personal trust administration and taxation. Mike and John met during at a trust school in the mid 1990’s. They quickly discovered that they both loved dogs and the rest is history. He joined Pawsch in 2008 as the Pawsch representative in Northern Florida. Mike and his wife, Kandi, along with their four children (Katie, Justin, Coleman and Conner) are passionate about rescue dogs and own three of them. A female German Shepherd mix named Greta, a female Labrador/Terrier mix named Laci and a male Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix named Rex.
Michele Abbuhl is the leader over the shared services group of Pawsch in Boca Raton, focusing her efforts on creating the best client experience possible. She has 26 years experience in the financial services arena with major U.S. based corporate banks. During her tenure in financial services, she won frequent awards and received numerous accolades for her service skills and her outstanding commitment to service excellence. If John is the brains behind the Pawsch concept, Michele is the “heart” of the Pawsch service experience.
Dr. Andrew Payson is a veterinary medicine graduate of Iowa State University and has 30 years experience as a vet. His wife Dana is also part of the Riverside Animal Hospital and is an accomplished artist in her own right. They have two children and are prominent members of the Coral Springs community. He specializes in dogs and cats but offers his expertise for exotic pets as well.
Dr.Wayne Crance is a veterinary medicine graduate of the University of Florida and has 17 years experience as a vet. He is also part of the Riverside Animal Hospital. Dr. Crance, and his wife Gail have three children and are prominent members of the Coral Springs community having previously worked in the Boca Raton/Deerfield area. He also specializes in dogs and cats but offers his expertise for other pets as well.
